OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the San Jose Pop Up Choir has been the same since the beginning, to establish a community of adults that are interested in singing, by providing a forum where they can sing together, share a love of music and build friendships through song.
OUR CODE OF CONDUCT
The San Jose Pop Up Choir is dedicated to providing a harassment-free community for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, preferred taste in music, physical appearance, body size, race, nationality, or religious beliefs. While we are primarily a group for adults, there are instances where minors (with parental permission) will be allowed to participate on a limited basis, as such, they too will be subject to our code of conduct.
We do not tolerate harassment within the Pop Up Choir and those we interact with (including but not limited to venues, patrons and audiences that support us) in any form. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the community at the discretion of the organizers.
We are available here ‘via email’ or on the Meetup page or through the ‘Contact Us’ page on our website www.sjpopupchoir.com
EXAMPLES OF EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
EXAMPLES OF HARASSMENT
Harassment includes offensive verbal or written comments related to sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, age, body size, race, nationality, or religious beliefs, deliberate intimidation, threats, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any Pop Up Choir event or communication channel. Members asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Do not contact other members directly prior to meeting them in person, our group has been established to create an opportunity for real life contact, so unsolicited contact is unacceptable.
If a community member engages in harassing behavior, the San Jose Pop Up organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from the San Jose Pop Up Choir, and/or removal from an event. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact one of our organizers immediately, or as soon as you feel comfortable doing so.
We expect all community members, sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other guests to abide by this code of conduct at all venues and related social events.
